What are capability sprints?

We understand it can be challenging to focus on building the maturity of your business while juggling client demands, pitching for work and managing your team. This is why we have built our capability framework and broken down each capability into manageable chunks. Capability sprints are a route to creating specific deliverables to implement in your consultancy within a set timeframe.

Each sprint focuses on a crucial area within The Consultancy Growth Network Capability Framework, such as value proposition, pricing strategy, recruiting high performers and maximising margin, providing you with the guidance, templates, and accountability needed to make step changes in the way you do business. 

How do capability sprints work?

  • Your sprint facilitator will take you through a number of steps, setting tasks to be done in between each session, providing feedback on your outputs and holding you accountable for each deliverable. 
  • The number and frequency of steps may vary however they will typically involve five or six one hour sessions approximately two weeks apart and you will have a couple of hours work to do in between sessions.  
  • Cohorts will typically have 6 – 10 participants, up to a maximum of 12. Each sprint is subject to sufficient demand. Provided at least 6 members sign up then they will go ahead. If fewer than 6 people sign up we will push the dates back and run them when we have enough people
  • There will typically be three different topics each quarter on offer in this format.

Sales strategy
ObjectivesTo build a sales strategy that gives you confidence in your ability to achieve your revenue target.
DeliverablesAction plan to deliver against revenue targets and drive improvement in key sales KPIs.

ObjectivesWhen your product is your people, to achieve your business strategy you need an effective people strategy.

Marketing strategy
ObjectivesTo build a clear and defined marketing strategy.

What are the benefits?

  • Expert facilitated: Sprints are facilitated by either a TCGN Growth Expert, Specialist Provider or a TCGN member with a proven track record in the topic area who understands what good looks like and the process to get there. 
  • Action-oriented: Unlike knowledge sharing webinars, TCGN sprints will guide you through the production of the relevant capability for your business. 
  • Time-efficient: With a concise and intensive structure, capability sprints fit seamlessly into busy schedules, allowing you to make big strides without disrupting daily operations. 
  • Accountability: Each session concludes with an agreed set of concrete actions for which participants collectively hold each other to account, guaranteeing that by the end of the sprint changes will have been implemented. 
  • Building your network: Sprints facilitate engagement with fellow consultancy leaders to share learning and build relationships. 

How much does it cost?

  • Capability sprints are new in 2025 and they are included in all TCGN memberships at no extra charge.   
  • Professional members can attend one capability sprint per quarter whilst corporate members can attend three sprints per quarter. 

How do I sign up?

You need to enroll 30 days before the commencement of the cohort by completing this 30 second form to check you can make the dates and confirm your place. 


What are my commitments?

Once enrolled, you need to attend every session and take the actions agreed as part of the group. If you fail to attend more than one session or are not completing your actions, the facilitator has the right to remove you from the cohort.
